I first encountered Dance Dance Revolution around 2005 but stopped playing around 2007 due to school and other interests. I got back into it in 2022 after stumbling upon CHRIS4LIFE's DDR videos, previously having only known him as a Guitar Hero player, and being inspired by him.
I started with In The Groove charts on Stepmania with a soft pad. Then I eventually mounted the soft pad to plywood, and began to spend time on PS2 DDR games. Sometime in the summer of 2022 I got frustrated with the limitations of a soft pad and bought myself an LTEK. At the time, there was no adapter for PS2 for the LTEK, so I shifted my focus back to Stepmania, Simply Love.
In the summer of 2024 I finally got a PS2 adapter for my LTEK and I have been focusing on PS2 games ever since. I prefer PS2 DDR to Stepmania/ITGmania/Simply Love, at this time. I don't often go to the arcade, but my favorite DDR experience overall is on older cabs such as 5th mix and Supernova
I also enjoy other rhythm games such as StepmaniaX, In the Groove, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Taiko no Tatsujin, and Amplitude.
